 Dr. Betül Tosun completed her undergraduate education at the Gülhane Military Medical Academy (GMMA) Nursing School between 1998 and 2002. Following this, she underwent a one-year internship at the Gülhane Military Medical Academy General Surgery Intensive Care Clinic from 2002 to 2003. She then worked for one and a half years at the GMMA Haydarpaşa Hospital Anesthesia and Reanimation Intensive Care Clinic. During her three-year tenure as a nurse at Manisa Military Hospital, she began her master's degree in the Nursing Department of Celal Bayar University Faculty of Health Sciences, completing it in 2008. From 2007 to 2010, she worked as a general surgery clinic nurse and educational nurse at Ankara Etimesgut Air Hospital. She completed her Ph.D. in the Nursing Basics Department of Gülhane Military Medical Academy Nursing School from 2010 to 2014. Between 2014 and 2016, she served as a lecturer at the GMMA Nursing School. After her doctorate, she independently conducted clinical observations and studies related to her doctoral thesis at Debrecen University in Hungary for three months. From 2016 to 2018, she worked as a Quality Coordinator at Gülhane Training and Research Hospital. From 2018 to 2020, she served as an Assistant Professor in the Nursing Department of Hasan Kalyoncu University Faculty of Health Sciences. After receiving the title of associate professor in 2020, she worked as an associate professor in the same position from 2021 to 2024. In 2024, she started working as an associate professor in the Nursing Basics Department of Hacettepe University Faculty of Nursing.

During her academic career, she supervised 15 graduate students between 2018 and 2024 and successfully guided them through their theses. Her academic work led her to be awarded third and second place in the academic achievement awards of her affiliated university in 2022 and 2023, respectively. Additionally, she served as the coordinator of the European Union (Erasmus+) Project for three years. She also contributed to nursing as an innovative scientist with her inventions. In this context, her invention, the "Talking Digital Insulin Pen," earned her the Turkish Patent Silver Medal at the 5th Istanbul International Invention Fair (ISIF'20). Continuing her academic life by working multidisciplinarily with many national and international academicians, Tosun is involved in numerous national and international projects as a researcher. She knows English. Her areas of expertise include clinical nursing practices, evidence-based nursing practices, nursing education, and transcultural nursing.
