She graduated from Gülhane Military Medical Academy of Nursing Department in 2007. After graduation, she worked as a Military intensive care nurse and clinical nurse educator for 5 years at Cardiac, Cardiovascular Surgery and Internal Intensive Care Unit in Military Hospitals where Ankara and İstanbul. She received her Master degree at Ankara University, Institute of Health Sciences, Public Health Nursing Department in 2011 and received Doctorial degree at Hacettepe University, Institute of Health Sciences Public Health Nursing Department in 2016. She was a doctoral student at General Sotiria Hospital for 3 months in 2013 and at Escola Superior De Enfermagem Sao José De Cluny for 2 months in 2015. She worked as a Research Assistant (Faculty Development Programme) between 2012-2016 at Hacettepe University. After that, she worked as Research Assistant Doctor at Hatay Mustafa Kemal University between 2017-2018. Then she worked as an Associate Professor at Hacettepe University, Faculty of Nursing, Public Health Nursing Department between 2018-2021. Kuru Alıcı, gained the title of "Associate Professor" in 2021 and since then working as a Associate Professor at the Public Health Nursing Department.
