Dr. Korkmaz was born in 1978 in Mazgirt. She completed her primary and secondary education in İzmir. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree at the School of Nursing in Hacettepe University in 1998. She worked as a ICU nurse at Special Sevgi Hospital and, staff nurse at Bayındır Hospital Ankara 1998-2001. She acquired the degree of “Master of Science in Nursing” in 2002 and “Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing” in 2009 at the Institute of Health Sciences in Hacettepe University. She worked as a Research Assistant at Hacettepe University Faculty of Health Science Nursing Department between 2001 and 2009. She has been in Medisinische Hoch Schule in Hannover in Germany as an observer for four months in 2006. She worked as Assistant Professor at Fundamentals of Nursing Division in 2009-2018. She has been working as Associate Professor at Fundamentals of Nursing Division since December 2018. She teaches “Fundamentals of Nursing”, “Nursing History and Deontology” at undergraduate level and also she teaches at graduate level at Hacettepe University.
