Imatullah Akyar graduated from the Hacettepe University School of Nursing in 2003. Dr. Akyar received a Master’s degree in 2004 and a PhD in 2010. Following doctoral studies, she completed postdoctoral research in palliative care at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing in the United States. Between 2004 and 2010, Dr. Akyar worked as a research assistant in the Department of Internal Medicine Nursing at Hacettepe University. From 2010 to 2013, she served as a lecturer in the same department. Since 2014, she has been working as a faculty member in the Department of Internal Medicine Nursing at Hacettepe University. Her academic work focuses on palliative care, symptom management, chronic disease management, geriatrics, and caregiver research.
