In 2008, she graduated from Cumhuriyet University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing. After graduation, she started to work as a research assistant in Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing, Fundemental of Nursing Division in 2009. She completed her master's degree in Cumhuriyet University Institute of Health Sciences Fundemental of Nursing Program in 2012 and PhD degree in Hacettepe University Institute of Health Sciences Medical Nursing Program in 2016. She worked as a research assistant in Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing, Fundemental of Nursing Division between 2009-2013, as a research assistant in Hacettepe University Faculty of Nursing, Medical Nursing Department between 2013-2016, and as a research assistant doctor in the same department between 2016-2021. Between 2021-2023, she worked as an assistant professor at Hacettepe University Faculty of Nursing, Medical Nursing Department. In 2023, Arıkan Dönmez is still working as an Associate Professor in the Medical Nursing Department.
