After graduating from the Nursing Department of the Atatürk Vocational High School of Health in 1995, Azize ATLI OZBAS finished first the Nursing Department of Hacettepe University Vocational School of Health Services in 1998, and then the Department of Nursing at Gazi University Faculty of Health Sciences in 2005. Between 1996 and 2005, she worked at Zübeyde Hanım Maternal Hospital (attached to the Turkish Ministry of Health) as gynaecology nurse, operating room nurse and nurse supervisor. From 2005 to 2013, she worked as a research assistant at Gazi University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing, Division of Mental Health Nursing, and since 2017 she has been working as a faculty at Hacettepe University, Faculty of Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing Department. She received her master’s degree in 2008 from the Nursing Programme of the Gazi University, Institute of Health Sciences with a thesis on “Determination of the Level of Distress and Perceived Social Support of the Breast Cancer Patients”, after which she completed her doctorate at the Psychiatric Nursing Programme of the Graduate School of Health Sciences at Erciyes University with a thesis on “ The Effect of a Psychological  Empowerment Programme, Based on Psychodrama, on Empowerment Perception and Burnout Levels in Oncology Nurses”. Since 2007, she has been receiving education and supervision on psychodrama and group therapies from Dr. Abdulkadir Ozbek Psychodrama Institute. Continuing her studies in the field of psycho-oncology, ATLI OZBAS focuses mainly on psychological care, development of communication skills, burnout, psychological empowerment, end-of-life care, mourning and the application of psychodrama in nursing education and in clinical practices.
