The department of Internal Medicine Nursing is one of the eight departments, has been established by a Higher Education Council's Executive Board Decision dated November 27, 1990.Now, there are two associate professors, one assistant professor and ten research assistants in the department. Currently, Assoc. Prof. Leyla Özdemir is head of the department.

Department of Internal Medicine Nursing offers HEM 263 Internal Medicine Nursing, HEM 241 Geritric Nursing, HEM 246 Oncology Nursing and HEM 142 Literature Review and Evaluation courses in the undergraduate program.

PhD and MSc programs are provided in terms of post-graduate level by Department of Internal Medicine Nursing. Besides, the Department of Internal Medicine Nursing organizes monthly TİHUD meetings and The National Congress of Internal Medicine every year.
