She was born in Muğla and graduated from Muğla Health Vocational High School in 1985. She graduated from Hacettepe University School of Nursing in 1998. She received her master degree from Hacettepe University Institute of Health Sciences Nursing Services Administration Program in 2001, and her doctorate from the Hacettepe University Institute of Health Sciences Public Health Nursing Program in 2007. She worked as a nurse and nurse supervisor in institutions such as Health Center, Pediatric Hospital, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Center between 1985-1999,. She worked at the Ministry of Health Nursing Chief Office between 1999 and 2001. She was an observer at Hannover Medical School, Germany for four months and she was a visiting scholar at the University of Minnesota, USA for three months in 2008. She currently works as a Professor and Head of the Department of Nursing Management at the Faculty of Nursing. She teaches courses in the undergraduate and graduate programs of the Department of Nursing Management.

She is the Bologna Coordinator of our University. She is also a member of the Education and Teaching Coordination Board of our University and the Hacettepe University Quality Commission. She has been working as TÜSKA Health Accreditation Auditor since 2018. She also works as a member of TÜSKA International Accreditation Scientific Board. She is an evaluator of Turkish Higher Education Quality Council, an Accreditation Evaluator of Nursing Education Programs at the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Undergraduate Nursing Education Programs and a member of the Standards Commission of the same association and International Relations Commission. She is an international evaluator in the education accreditation processes of countries such as Romania, Latvia and Indonesia. She has been a board member and chairman of the Academic Practice Commission of the Asian and Pacific Alliance for Nursing Education, which is an international organization, since 2019, and has been president of the Asian and Pacific Alliance for Nursing Education since June 2022. She has been the president of Hacettepe Nursing Undergraduate and Graduate Alumni Association since 2018. She was the editor of Hacettepe University Faculty of Nursing Journal between 2014-2024 and worked as the Faculty Erasmus Coordinator between 2011-2024. She continues her studies on issues related to nursing management, development of leadership in nursing, power and empowerment in nursing, development of patient safety culture in hospitals, peer mentoring and nursing education.
